Mitch Williams is known for his unique pitching technique and his dynamic personality.  Deemed the “Wild Thing” by fans, Mitch has pitched in All-Star, playoff, and World-Series games.  He finished his career with a 3.65 ERA and 192 Saves.  As the closer, he was an integral part of the Philadelphia Phillies 1993 NLCS.

In his life after baseball, Mitch is now heard each week on Philadelphia’s Sports Radio 610 WIP.  He also has joined Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia as a post-game analyst of the Phillies.

 


Career Highlights:

Drafted in 1982 out of High School by the San Diego Padres

Made the All-Star team as a member of the Chicago Cubs in 1989 

Won games 1 and 5 of the 1993 National league Championship Series

Saved game 4 of the 1993 National League Championship Series 

On July 2nd 1993, got the game winning RBI single against the San Diego Padres in a rare batting opportunity

In April 2007, joined Comcast SportsNet as a post-game analyst for the Philadelphia Phillies 

2008 Mitch unveiled specialty food line “Wild Thing Salsa” which is sold across the United States


Mitch’s win or go home attitude kept him in the league for 11 years.  His raw talent, mixed with his knowledge of the game, have kept Mitch in baseball to this day.
