Fred Barnett was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles in the third round of the 1990 NFL draft.  After graduating from Arkansas State University (along with fellow Eagles alumni Bill Bergey), Fred enjoyed an eight year career in the NFL as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles and Miami Dolphins.

Career Highlights:
  • Inducted into the Arkansas State Hall of Honor in 1999.
  • Named to the All-Time Sun Belt Conference Football Team in 2005.
  • Holds Philadelphia Eagles’ franchise record for the longest reception of all time, a 95 yard touchdown catch against the Buffalo Bills in his rookie season of 1990.
  • Started 11 games for the Eagles as a rookie, recording 8 touchdowns.
  • Grabbed 4 receptions for 102 yards and 2 touchdowns in a 1992 playoff win against the New Orleans Saints.
  • Selected to the Pro Bowl following the 1992 season after recording 1,083 receiving yards.
  • Creator of City Livin', a reality style online sitcom, exposing the lighter side of Philadelphia celebrities.

Fred Barnett was a tough and consistent player during his eight year NFL career.  He’s taken that tenacity and focuses his attention now on improving the lives of inner-city youth with his numerous charitable endeavors.   Fred captures the excitement of the NFL, motivation that comes from success both on and off the playing field and the inspiration of a person who values giving back to the community.
